Gay Marriage in Finland!!!!!! VICTORY

Reported from IceNews, Finland parliaments are scheduled to approve gay marriage next year. Apparently it is currently legal to have registered partnerships in Finland, which is something similar to our now civil unions. Of course this is great news for all of us to hear. It's funny how "some" other countries understand the meaning of civil rights but living here in the United States people still have small minds and are still scared and ignorant about what that word "RIGHTS"actually  mean. We can only hope for the best and keep pushing on in our daily struggles.

Obama has to be getting tired

There is going to be an organized rally in Washington DC on Sunday May 2, 2010 in DC's famous Lafayette Square to pressure President Obama to go to the Senate Armed Service Committee so he can REPEAL this Defense Authorization Bill. Personally I don't understand the problem. I understand that there are major issues that need to be looked at first, but if we have any chance of civility and equality, we need to come together and make these bigots aware and make them understand that we are not going anywhere, this isn't a lifestyle choice, this is something that is relevant, and we will no longer silence ourselves. National Day of Silence wasn't so silent for teen Williams

On National Day of silence, young teen Cheyenne Williams of Kentucky is said to have been kidnapped and murdered by three female teens, Ashley Sam and Corrine Swab both 18. The other teen isn't to be mentioned as she is still a minor. Williams stated the two girls kidnapped her and tried pushing her off of a 50 foot cliff. Police states that there may be enough evidence to find this case to be a prank gone wrong. Williams' mother told reporters off camera that Cheyenne will not be returning to that High School because she feels this was a hate crime and that he daughter has enough credits to graduate. ONST AGAIN, where are the parents in all of this. Why are teens so angry, scared, and iliterate about something that is so frequent in our society today. I believe it needs to start in the home. If parents teach their children to hate others because of their differences then we are going to be in for a terrible fight in the future. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Williams family. Cyndi Lauper Opens LGBT Shelter in Harlem

In case you didn't know, the number of homeless LGBT youth is on the rise. According to statistics 25% of homeless LGBT youth are more prone to violence and suicide. This is a problem that needs to visible to the world in my opinion and more needs to be done about it. Celebrity, Activist, and Trend Setter Cyndi Lauper is making a big difference in Harlem, NY by helping to open a Manhattan's first permanent homeless LGBT Shelter for our gay youth between the ages of 18-24. Lauper quotes "We need to make sure we're taking care of them. This is the next generation of the LGBT community." I give Cyndi TWO THUMBS UP. We need more people like her in the world. People who are not afraid to speak up and speak out about things that affect our community. We have to stick together and try our best to stay positive and strong and I feel that is what Cyndi is trying to do for us. After all "Girls just want to have fun" right???lol
