National Day of Silence wasn't so silent for teen Williams

On National Day of silence, young teen Cheyenne Williams of Kentucky is said to have been kidnapped and murdered by three female teens, Ashley Sam and Corrine Swab both 18. The other teen isn't to be mentioned as she is still a minor. Williams stated the two girls kidnapped her and tried pushing her off of a 50 foot cliff. Police states that there may be enough evidence to find this case to be a prank gone wrong. Williams' mother told reporters off camera that Cheyenne will not be returning to that High School because she feels this was a hate crime and that he daughter has enough credits to graduate. ONST AGAIN, where are the parents in all of this. Why are teens so angry, scared, and iliterate about something that is so frequent in our society today. I believe it needs to start in the home. If parents teach their children to hate others because of their differences then we are going to be in for a terrible fight in the future. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Williams family. God Bless!

Cyndi Lauper Opens LGBT Shelter in Harlem

In case you didn't know, the number of homeless LGBT youth is on the rise. According to statistics 25% of homeless LGBT youth are more prone to violence and suicide. This is a problem that needs to visible to the world in my opinion and more needs to be done about it. Celebrity, Activist, and Trend Setter Cyndi Lauper is making a big difference in Harlem, NY by helping to open a Manhattan's first permanent homeless LGBT Shelter for our gay youth between the ages of 18-24. Lauper quotes "We need to make sure we're taking care of them. This is the next generation of the LGBT community." I give Cyndi TWO THUMBS UP. We need more people like her in the world. People who are not afraid to speak up and speak out about things that affect our community. We have to stick together and try our best to stay positive and strong and I feel that is what Cyndi is trying to do for us. After all "Girls just want to have fun" right???lol

DADT has to wait

According to LGBT leaders DADT will not be in the defense funding bill this year per President Obama's Deputy Chief of Staff. LGBT leaders apparently knew about this as far back as Feb. 2010. So it appears that our troops who fight and die for us are still going to be silenced and still will not have the same rights as heterosexual soldiers. Now this is just plan dumb to me. I understand that the President has a lot on his plate and everything will not get done in the manner that we all want but it seems to me that equality and civil rights would be on the top of that list, right? I could be wrong but I know for me this is getting a bit ridiculous and something needs to be done about this ASAP!
